宗像市吉留にある八所宮は、日本神話に登場する伊邪那岐命（いざなぎのみこと）や伊邪那美命（いざなみのみこと）など、４組の夫婦神すなわち８柱の神様をお祀りしています。境内には藤棚があり、ゴールデンウィークの頃には藤が満開になり、蜜を求める花アブの羽音で賑やかになります。実に楽しい初夏の訪れです。

Within the shrine grounds, a wisteria trellis bursts into full bloom around Golden Week. The gentle hum of flower flies drawn to the nectar fills the air, marking the joyful arrival of early summer.
僕が10歳の頃、不思議な題名の曲がヒットしました。強烈なインパクトだったのは、1972年にヒットした平田隆夫とセルスターズの｢ハチのムサシは死んだのさ｣でした。当時は｢五番街のマリーへ｣とか、これは何処の話し？といった不思議なヒット曲が多かったように思います。いわゆる黄金の60年代が終わり、日本の高度経済成長にも陰りが見えてきた70年代初頭のことです。半世紀経った今日では、人生100年時代、ハチのムサシのように一度や二度の失敗では死ねません。この曲のオマージュとして、また、還暦を過ぎて挑戦を続ける自分を励ます意味をこの一枚に込めました。
When I was ten years old, a song with a mysterious title became a hit. One that left a particularly strong impression on me was “The Death of Musashi the Bee” (Hachi no Musashi wa Shinda no sa), a 1972 hit by Takao Hirata and the Sellsters.
Back then, there were many songs with cryptic and evocative titles—like “To Marie on Fifth Avenue” (Goban-gai no Marie e)—that made listeners wonder, “Where is this story set?”
It was the early 1970s. Japan’s golden 1960s had come to an end, and the momentum of rapid economic growth was beginning to slow.
Now, half a century later, in this so-called 100-year-lifespan era, we can’t afford to “die” like Musashi the bee after just one or two failures.
I took this photo as a tribute to that unforgettable song—and as a way to encourage myself to keep taking on new challenges, even after turning sixty.
令和7年乙巳のラッキーカラーは紫とか。紫は奥深い色です。青紫もあれば赤紫もあります。紫紺なんてのもありますね。変化の激しい一年、ラッキーカラーを目に焼き付けて変化に惑わされず上機嫌で参りましょう。
They say that purple is the lucky color for Kinoto-mi (乙巳), the year 2025 in the traditional Japanese zodiac.
Purple is a deeply nuanced color—ranging from bluish violet to reddish plum, with rich, elegant tones like shikon (deep indigo-purple).
In a year of great change, let’s keep our lucky color close to heart and stay cheerful and steady, undeterred by the shifting winds around us.
